Kazakhstan approves $100 M to Kyrgyzstan for EAEU integration
Kazakh Parliament's lower house has ratified an agreement on the allocation of $100 million USD to Kyrgyzstan as an assistance for the country to adapt to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
"The money is meant for implementation of the road map for Kyrgyzstan's accession to the EAEU, in particular, improvement of customs infrastructure, bringing sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary systems of Kyrgyzstan in line with the EAEU standards," Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov said told media.
The assistance will be provided in several phases in accordance with separate inter-governmental protocols on technical cooperation in the form of money, training services and goods.
The minister added that the agreement also includes signing of a separate protocol to the agreement on the order of providing assistance and control over its use.
A joint audit commission to ensure targeted and effective use of the provided assistance will be established within the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council.
